What We Buy
Sell Signed Guitars
Private purchase of artist-signed and artist-played guitars. Ireland’s specialist music memorabilia buyer — no auction fees, fair value, complete confidentiality.
Pop Icons buys signed guitars and artist-played instruments directly from private sellers. Whether your guitar carries a single artist’s signature or was owned and played by a major musician, we provide a free confidential valuation and make a direct private offer — without the delays and fees of the auction system.
What Makes a Signed Guitar Valuable?
Not all signed guitars carry equal value. The key factors are the significance of the artist, the quality and clarity of the signature, the condition of the guitar itself, and — critically — provenance. A signed guitar with documented provenance (photographs, purchase receipts, authentication certificates, or a clear chain of ownership) is worth substantially more than the same guitar with only the signature to authenticate it.
Artist-played guitars — instruments that a musician actually used for recording or performance — carry an additional premium beyond a guitar that was simply signed for a fan. The difference between a “signed” guitar and a “played” guitar can be tens of thousands of euros.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a signed guitar worth more than a played guitar?
Not necessarily. A guitar signed for a fan at a concert is worth less than a guitar the artist actually played on stage or in the studio. If your guitar was played by the artist, that documentation is more valuable than the signature alone.
Do you buy guitars signed by multiple artists?
Yes — band-signed guitars (all Beatles, all Stones, all U2) can carry significant premiums over single-artist pieces. The more complete the band signing, the more valuable the piece.
My guitar has no authentication certificate — can I still sell?
Yes. Many genuinely significant guitars predate formal authentication systems. We assess the full balance of evidence — photographs, provenance chains, handwriting comparison — and make an offer based on what the evidence supports.
Do I need to be in Ireland to sell?
No — we work with sellers across Ireland, the UK, and internationally. Our process begins with digital photographs; we arrange collection once terms are agreed.
